Artist Development

 

When: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM – Saturday, October 15th, 2016
Where: Santana’s Bar & Lounge
What: What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Do you work on developing your songwriting skills before you venture out as an artist or do you try to seal a record deal first and then hone your songwriting skills? Listen to what these industry professionals have to say about the path they’ve chosen in their music career journey. Please note at the end of this panel there will be a brief Q&A session, so please wait until the appropriate time to ask any questions you may have.

 

Bring Your Own Demo

 

When: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM – Saturday, October 15th, 2016
Where: Santana’s Bar & Lounge
What: An entertaining panel of music industry experts will evaluate song demos and share tips on how to win at the songwriting game. Ambitious songwriters who are ready to lay their songwriting cards on the table can submit their demo and gamble on whether our experts think they should hold’em or fold’em while receiving credible advice on how to up the ante of their craft.
Song demo submissions will be accepted at the door no later than noon, October 14th, and must include:

  • Song Title and track number clearly marked on the outside of the CD
  • Four copies of the song lyrics along with:

“Submitted by” and Songwriters Name(s)

    • I write songs for: (please select one or more) Self interest or hobby, To perform them myself, To have other artists perform them, For Film/TV
    • You would like comments on: (please select one or more) Songwriting, Performance, Commercial Appeal, or Demo Quality

**Submissions are selected at random and a limited number will be reviewed depending
on time. Only demos submitted correctly have a chance to be heard.

 

Publisher’s Panel

 

When: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Friday, October 14th, 2016
Where: Santana’s Bar & Lounge
What: Do you want to get your songs published and recorded? Our panel of industry professionals in the publishing world will give insight to the process of getting your songs published and recorded. Please note at the end of this panel there will be a brief Q&A session, so please wait until the appropriate time to ask any questions you may have.

 

Art of Co-Writing

 

When: 11:30 AM - 12:20 PM – Friday, October 14th, 2016
Where: Santana’s Bar & Lounge
What: One way to improve and exploit your music is through co-writing. During this panel, determined writers have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of properly co-writing first hand from experts. There will be two songwriters co-writing while the audience observes the process. Please note at the end of this panel there will be a brief Q&A session, so please wait until the appropriate time to ask any questions you may have.
